Project Description
This was a project in the Patterson Park Neighborhood of Baltimore. Historical neighborhood with relaxed covenants. Homeowner wanted to stay true to the traditional architectural integrity while modernizing somewhat. The goal was large expansive view casements with full airflow in each opening with traditional colonial style grilles/pane design in all windows. Settled on the Marvin Ultimate Casement window units with Black Extruded Aluminum Clad exterior and painted Designer Black wood interiors. The black interiors played perfectly off the existing historic white trim work for a very nice contrast on the interior. On the exterior, the Homeowner is going to have the historic Baltimore bullnose trim painted black to match the windows. The (2) large first floor casement were 30" wide by 98" tall, which makes quite a statement aesthetically, operates for maximum airflow, and is exactly what the Homeowner and I envisioned when designing the original plans. In the rear of the home, the Homeowner opted for the Marvin Essential (All Fiberglass) units in white since these were not facing the front and not governed by Historical requirements.
